School Approach ACT

The School programme, with 12 essential skills mapped under 5 domains, is designed to promote innovative curricular and co curricular program to sustain success and attain breakthrough performance in nurturing future-ready citizens. It is based on the perspective of providing holistic education to the students. The curriculum, thus, aims at providing enough opportunities for individuals to develop in each of the physical, socio-emotional and intellectual areas of development. As the neglect of one area may jeopardize achievement in the others, therefore, our educational programme makes the provision for the holistic development of the child by encompassing these 12 essential skills as an integral part of the curriculum.

Strong foundation means learning of skills that matter in students’ lives irrespective of the time period whether it is the 21st Century or centuries to come. Therefore development of Attitude (A), Communication Skills (C), and Thinking Skills (T) are incorporated in the school curriculum to ‘ACT’ upon equipping our young for maneuvering future opportunities and challenges.

All the endeavors in the form of various scholastic & co-scholastic activities emphasize on the regular practice of ‘ACT’ so that it becomes a habit and finally the character of a Rukminian. It is because we agree with Albert Einstein’s opinion on education that ‘Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school’.

The practice of holding myriad school activities viz. Morning assemblies, Project accomplishments under guidance of mentors and then presenting to their peers amongst the judges, Cultural exchange programmes and Collaborative projects with schools abroad, Partaking social awareness and community welfare programmes, Sports activities, Clubs, etc. are meticulously woven in the fabric of school’s programme to provide plethora of opportunities for the holistic development of the young Rukminians.

Both national and international dimension intricately embellishes the school curriculum to facilitate learners’ in developing a global persona. The culture of regular interactions between the faculty, students, and the management always give deep insight to review school programme in consonance to the needs & expectations of each other.

‘ACT’ approach aids to blend the traditional education for the known to the contemporary world’s requirement of education for the unknown i.e. whichever era it is, if one has the attitude to take up a challenge or an opportunity he would certainly interact according to the situation with the involved or concerned person of the society (i.e. communication) after thinking & rethinking on the strategies or the concerns involved (i.e qualification of ‘How to think’ rather than ‘What to think’).

The philosophy of education that provides the foundation for formulation of teaching-learning activities and programmes at RDPS is derived from the concept that rather than expecting children to be ready for school, schools must be prepared to adapt to meet the varying needs of the child because our philosophy of child’s education is:

“You are a Child of Immortality,
Your roots go deep to eternity,
Your reach is unto infinity.”
